I am a family attorney, mediator and collaborative attorney. I help individuals and families who have marital or elder issues. I practice in Petaluma, California, just north of San Francisco in beautiful Sonoma County.

In helping people, I do not go to court. Instead, I help people outside of court which reduces stress, time, and money and also helps to preserve the post-conflict relationship.

Types of conflicts I help people with -- to prevent or resolve them:

Marital/Family:
Getting married needing a prenuptial agreement
Staying married needing a postnuptial agreement
Getting divorced needing a marital settlement agreement
Getting legally separated needing a legal separation agreement
Creating and dissolving domestic partnerships

Elder/Family:
As the population ages, more and more issues are arising from the care of elders in our families. 
Conflicts may involve: Elder spouses with each other; adult siblings with each other; elders and adult siblings;
elders and caretakers; adult siblings and caretakers; elders, adult siblings and caretakers; adult children and their spouses.                                                                                                                

Processes to choose from that suit you and your situation best:

*Consultation: You may have legal questions that you'd like to have answered or clarified. I meet with you once or as often as you need.

*Mediation: As a neutral (meaning I don't take sides, I do not represent anyone), I help people work through a conflict. This can be in person or on a telephone conference call. Please read my  "Mediation" page.

*Collaboration (team approach): This is different from mediation in that in this process I do represent a person and together we meet with others involved in the conflict and their attorneys.
